Kon Lou Mien

One of my personal favourites. Actually this dish is called Kuching Kon Lou Mien coz of the Kuching style 'kon lou'. The amount used to be a bit not enough for me but it's just nice to me now. I guess my appetite shrunk. Hehe. I didn't realise the quality would drop at times depending on peak period. I guess I do not eat this as much as Mel. Anyway, the taste was still as nice the last time I went. No complains from me.

Irish Lamb Stew

Actually I ate his ages ago, back in April. But since I found the pic so what the heck.

An award winning dish so I was eager to see how award winning it was. Turned out great. Meat was soft & they gave a lot of sauce to go with it. Comes with a bun which was NOT your typical tasteless hard to eat type. Weird to say but I found myself enjoying the bun too. Definitely can give it a try if you love lamb stew.

Beaufort Wet Fried Mee

Pretty good. Standard Beaufort style fried mee with very tasty & fresh green vege. Guess you can't go wrong with this dish.

Cheese Baked Rice with Lamb Chop

Dinner at Hong Kong Recipe   RM 13.80

Almost scolded the waiter for forgetting my order on this. Anyway, the dish turned out pretty normal but it was still quite nice, just nothing special. Maybe I wished the cheese was melted more into the rice instead of a large lump on top of the rice. A bit pricey to me.

Cuppucino with Coke

Eh.... not bad, if you like your cappuccino with a slight sting of coke taste. Anyway, I didn't misspell the name of the drink, that's how they spelled it. LOL.

Ice Blue Pineapple Ice Blended

Interesting! That was my 1st impression when I was served the drink.

Loads of blended ice in some yummy blue or green syrup. Can't make out the colour, maybe it was the lighting! Hehe. Since the name of the drink is blue so I guess it should be blue. There are some small chunks of pineapples at the very bottom. The pearls on top were a bit weird looking since normally it's inside a drink, not on top of it. Still, loved the drink!

A word of warning though, this drink maybe too sweet for some people but me being a sweet tooth person, I was fine with it.

The Best Fish & Chips in Town!

An interesting name for a dish. Had a lot to live up to since my friend was telling me that it was pretty bad. Still I took the plunge & crossed my fingers.

Turned out pretty well in the end. Really enjoyed the dish. Had great taste, wasn't very oily. In fact I was wishing for more after I was done with it. LOL.

Only the chips were a bit of a downside but that didn't matter as the fish more than made up for it. This dish is great to me but your mileage may vary. Hehe.

Chicken Rice

First time I tried this restaurant, have to say I'm quite impressed with this combo set. For this price you get chicken, rice, soup, pai tee, bean sprout, drink and some cold desert (Add RM1 for drumstick). Not a bad deal at all.

How does it compare to another famous chicken rice? I have to say the chicken & the rice has just a bit more taste. The pai tee was nice too, though it was a first time for me so can't really compare.

I would give this a 4 1/2 star but since this site doesn't support 1/2 star ratings I'll settle for 4 stars. LOL!

My only complaint? The chicken & the rice was not hot enough when served. But the soup was hot & it's real chicken soup. Nice!

Sang Yuk Mien

Lunch at Kedai Kopi Melanian   RM 3.80

The 'kon lau' sauce & soup are definitely the highlight for this dish in this restaurant. TWO thumbs up from me!

Claypot Chicken Rice

Definitely THE claypot chicken rice. For it's price, portion & taste, this can't be beat, not in KK.
